This entry was my first post in my friendster blog and during that time,I don’t even have an idea what blog really is (poor me!). And I just want to post it here to reminisce my first au pair job in Denmark.

hi pips!it’s really difficult to be in a foreign land (one completely different from your own), but challenging though.Been here for 7months now.
I arrived here during the winter season,so i was really freezing!But i was very glad coz it snowed the following day.Believe it or not “nikaon jud ko ug snow sa ako kahinangop,hehehe!Real snow atlast!i’ve been wearing 3 layers of clothing to keep myself from freezing…as in bug at kaayo,kapoy lakaw..naa pa boots na perte bug ata!!Then my employer keep on telling me to slow down the heater coz electricity is very expensive here…shock ako amo kay pagsulod niya ako room perte najud inita pro gtug naw jhapon ko..hehehe.But i’m glad that my system has already adjusted to the cold weather..Kalbaryo jud namo mga pinay dri during winter time,”pwede uli sa pinas pra magpainit”,hehehe!The weather here is very unpredictable,one hour it’s sunny..the next hour it’s rainy and the next it’s windy..Though it’s already summer here but people always bring jackets with them coz kalit lang uwan bisan prte inita ang panahon…Agwanta kay saon daghan man utang sa pinas…
The language is very different.My employers send me to school to learn their language and culture.Been studying for 6months now..It’s really cool and challenging to learn another language..i love it bisan ga sakit2x lang sa ako ulo coz i got the chance to meet people (who eventually became my friends) of different nationalities (columbian,thailander,french,austrian,etc.).I’m not a very good english speaker,but atleast i can speak the language…then karon samot nako ka confused..I’ll speak english when talking to my employers…then danish when talking to their 5yr old daughter…visayan and tagalog during weekends when I’m with my pinay friends…hayyy kapoy…Despite the difficulty, i still want to learn spanish (para dugang sa labad sa ulo,hehehe).My columbian classmate (my bestfriend in the class) speaks spanish and i think it is easier for me to learn spanish than danish coz there are a lot of similar words in spanish and visayan like curtina,carne,ala una (and so on..), uno,dos,tres(and so on..),estasyon ug dagyan pa..I really want to learn spanish…ambisyosong iro..sagdi lang kay dalmatian man pod,hehehehe!
Though the country is very different from pinas,but i like it here coz it’s very systematic,clean and organized.The buses has their own schedules then it only stops on the designated bus stops..bisan layo pa ka sa u adtoan,hunong nka sa bus stop na duol2x kay dli mohunong ang bus bsan asa (d pareha sa ato na pwede mo para bsan kanus a)..Mao anad mi dri ug bnaktasay,samot na jud kadagko ako bagtak dri..Thn uso kaau bike dri,tnan tawo naay bike bisan bata pa ug tiguwang na..Then very clean ila surroundings..People here pay a lot of taxes..pro ok ra kay makit an man sa mga improvements..the eduacation here is free because it’s covered in their taxes..i hope free unta pod sa pinas(ambot kung mahitabo ba na!). Then the used water from the households are cleaned first before they throw it out to the sea..clean au ila dagat ari,as in wa juy mag lutaw2x,hehehe.But despite all the good things here,PINAS is # 1..”no other place like home”.I still believe that we can still make our beloved PINAS a better place.
The people here are very nice and accomodating in general..pro sympre naa pod mga kaspahon (hehehe,mao na amo term sa mga bad dri)..I’m very glad that my employers are very nice to me.They really treat me as a member of the family..always ko dungan kaon nila..Thn lingaw ko kay bisan naa nko dri wa jud jhapon nko ikatago ako pagkakusog mokaon!!hehehe.G ingnan na gud ko ako employer “good and u like our food” kay kit an man nya kusog ko kaon!!hehehe,nauwaw lang ko..but ok ra kay saon voracious nman jud ko ever since,hehehe!Anad nko kaon tinapay dri,brown bread pajud…b4 djud ko kaon kay lain kaaju pro karon lami nmn pod kay saon waman lain choice,hehehe.Thn uso kaayo salad dri..as in mura na mi baka pag usap2x ug sagbot,hehehe.Lipay jud ntawon mi during weekends kay free man,waz work then mao rajud amo ikakaon ug rice thn luto pod mi mga pinoy foods…D jud mawa ang sabaw..kay saon ang mga bol anon (isa nko) mohigop man jud,hehehe.
Anywayz,gkapoy nko type…but before i’ll end this let me teach you some danish words..I love you in danish is “jeg elsker dig” and u have to pronounce it as “ya elska die”..lisod no?..”Selvfølgelig” means of course but u have to pronounce it as “sufuli”..mao na ako ka pungtan kay ang written ug spoken lahi ra kaaju..daghan hunahunaon..pro ook ra kay lingaw man pod..
